DESIGN/ ART DIRECTION / MANAGEMENT
WORKFLOW
The amount of products developed at Lot26 Studio was extremely extensive and required a robust
file-management tracking system and defined workflow procedures.
As there were no systems in place with the exception of an inadequate Excel Spreadsheet system
to track product. There were two identifiable and important needs:
• A naming and filing protocol as a way to organize content.
• Filing management system to track products with images, and specs, including production, budget
and client information that all departments could access.
• Training materials to help with the instruction of new hires as to where to locate content; where to
file content and how to follow established design and production protocols.
Once identified, I was instrumental in addressing each of these needs. I established and maintained workflow procedures for design and production. We then utilized File-Maker and created a file numbering system which helped identify and thereby track all projects and assets across company departments. I brought on a new hire to create the database to match and grow with our needs.
When Lot26 Studio was purchased by Artissimo Designs, they replaced their system and adopted ours. The database became so robust, it was expanded to communicate with a separate sales system,
Tri-Force to include all the financial and sales information attached to each product. Eventually, this prompted the need for a new and separate department headed up by the employee I initially hired.
